Akai’s iconic reel-to-reel tape deck from the 70s. The Akai 4000DS is a classic, robust reel-to-reel tape recorder known for its reliability and quality sound reproduction. It's a four-track, two-channel stereo recorder designed for 7-inch reels. Key features include a three-head system with Akai's one-micron gap playback head, a single, highly efficient induction motor, and a well-designed flywheel for stable tape travel and reduced wow and flutter.
The Akai 4000DS is a four-track, two-channel stereo reel-to-reel tape recorder designed for 7-inch reels. It features a monitor selector switch (Tape & Source). The machine also offers automatic shut-off when the tape ends, and it has two tape speeds: 3-3/4 and 7-1/2 inches per second (ips). The 4000DS was designed to be versatile, operating in both vertical and horizontal positions.
The deck has new belts, both the player and the recorder heads are immaculate. This item has been completely restored and cleaned, tested, fully functional.
