A very well-designed and constructed direct drive HiFi turntable from the late 70s manufactured in Japan. The RP-1200 is a high-quality, licensed design from Fisher, featuring a pitch control, stroboscope, automatic arm return, and an SME-type head shell connector. The standout feature is a magnetic, contactless motor drive system, similar to magnetic levitation. It is a manual turntable with automatic tone-arm return at the end of the record. The turntable includes a strobe light for speed checks and a pitch control for fine-tuning the 33/45 RPM speeds. It features a standard SME-style connector, allowing for easy head shell and cartridge changes. The unit is relatively robust, weighing in at 8 kg.
After restoration, the turntable’s original wooden case was re-covered with Cherry wood cover that makes it a one and only piece.
This is a completely cleaned, restored and tested item. The turntable is comes with its original head shell, cartridge and stylus. I can also ship the turntable equipped with a brand new Audio-Technika AT3600 cartridge and stylus.
